The Henry County Police Department recently earned recognition and several awards from the 2019 MADD Golden Shield Honors / Conference held at the Cobb Galleria Center. This annual event recognized law enforcement agencies across the State of Georgia for DUI enforcement during 2018.The Henry County Police Department received the MADD Agency DUI Hero award for Category 5 for 587 DUI arrests in 2018.

Categories are determined by the agency’s size in manpower. Officer K. Palmer received the MADD Achievement Silver pin for 97 DUI arrests as well as the DRE (Drug Recognition Expert) Achievement White pin for 25 Drug / DUI evaluations. Officer T. Stone received the MADD Achievement Silver pin for 95 DUI arrests. Officer W. Parks received the MADD Achievement Bronze pin for 37 DUI Arrests. Several other HCPD Officers contributed to the total 587 DUI Arrests in 2018.
